hello, world.
why this site exists, what i plan to write about, and a short tour of how it was built.
every freelancer needs a corner of the internet they fully control — somewhere to put the work, the writing, and the way they think out loud. this is mine.
what i’ll be writing about
mostly three things:
- the work itself — case studies of recent client builds, what the brief was, what i actually did, what i’d do differently next time.
- the craft — design systems, motion, performance, accessibility, and the small details that make a site feel built instead of assembled.
- the freelancing of it all — pricing, scope, the way i run a one-person studio, and the parts nobody talks about.
how this site is built
a quick tour:
astro 6 → routing, static output, MDX
react → islands only (the hero canvas, glitch links, hover gallery)
motion → for choreography on the interactive bits
playwright → captures screenshots of the work
netlify → deploys
the dot grid and the tron-style light beam in the hero are hand-rolled canvas — no third-party libs. the work-page hover gallery is a Scalzo-inspired touch i couldn’t shake. the editorial typography is fraunces because i wanted something with teeth.
if any of that is interesting, stick around. if not, no hard feelings — → check out the work instead.
